Al, is easily the biggest signing in the 36 year history of the NBL.
In a 16-year career with 7 ball clubs including the Warriors, the NBA veteran has played nearly 1000 NBA games (981), starting 445.
He will be the most experienced NBA player to join a National Basketball League team.
These are truly good times for the revamped and rebranded Australian basketball league. Hopefully, Big Al is around long enough that I can get to a game here in Perth against the mighty Wildcats!!!.
Al will be 36 in February and while that may sound old, he should be a big-time contributor for the Kings. It’s been confirmed that Sydney is looking forward to his arrival in a few days and there is a possibility he would suit up for the Friday night game at the Sydney Entertainment Centre against the Townsville Crocodiles.
It will be interesting to see what he has left in the tank.
